"Buy Boone Lunch" at F.A.R.M. Cafe

On Wednesday, September 13, everyone was invited to F.A.R.M. (Feed All Regardless of Means) Cafe for another monthly event called “Buy Boone Lunch.” This was the first time COMBS, TENNANT & CARPENTER, P.C. participated in this event as a business partner. On regular days at the Café, guests donate what they are able to for a great lunch; however, with CTCCPA covering the cost of the meal that Wednesday with a generous donation, each and every additional donation will be utilized by the café in its mission to fight food insecurity in the High Country.

So far the “Buy Boone Lunch” program has raised over $13,000 for the direct mission of the Cafe representing over 1300 meals that have been or will be provided for persons experiencing food and economic insecurity. Brady Combs is a regular diner at the Café and everyone at the firm participated in serving as volunteer servers, cooks, and dishwashers working with the Café staff.

Cafe’s Executive Chef, “This is a new sponsor for F.A.R.M. Café’s efforts. We are pleased to work with another local business stepping up to partner with a non-profit in this wonderful community.”

Tommy Brown, volunteer coordinator at F.A.R.M. Cafe says of the ‘Buy Boone Lunch’ program, “We are pleased that ‘Buy Boone Lunch’ is continuing to be a win/win opportunity for businesses and business leaders like Brady who understand the importance of supporting non-profit agencies such as F.A.R.M. Cafe which are such a vital part of the Boone and High Country communities.” Brown continued, “We look forward to working with more businesses and groups on what has become a great monthly special event for downtown Boone.”

F.A.R.M. Café is a non-profit, pay-what-you-can community kitchen that builds a healthy and inclusive community. It provides high quality and delicious meals produced from local sources, when available, served in a restaurant where everybody eats, regardless of means.
